Voting in Michigan

Michigan has some of the most accessible voting laws in the country. Here are the key things to know:

  • Same-Day Registration: You can register to vote at your polling place on Election Day in Michigan. Bring proof of residency.
  • Early Voting: Michigan offers at least 9 days of early voting before each election. Check your local clerk's website for exact dates and locations.
  • Absentee Voting: Any registered Michigan voter can request an absentee ballot — no excuse required.
  • Student Voters: University of Michigan students can register and vote using their campus address.

Why It Matters

People walked for this.

The right to vote wasn't given — it was marched for, fought for, and died for. By suffragettes who paraded down Fifth Avenue. By civil rights marchers who crossed the Edmund Pettus Bridge. By organizers who registered voters door by door.

Walk Cycle to the Polls exists because we believe voting should be joyful, accessible, and communal. Make your character walk. Then make your voice heard.
